Kathryn Ann Holleran, 83, of Belleair, Florida, entered heaven peacefully on May 5th with her husband of 61 years Marty holding her hand, and surrounded by her daughter Aileen and son Brian. Kathy, as she was known to most all, was born, raised, and will be laid to rest in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
The youngest of four children to her loving parents Joseph and Anna Jordan, Kathy was a 1961 graduate of South Catholic High School in Scranton. It was at South Catholic in 1958 where she met a young classmate named Marty Holleran, who fell in love with her the moment they met- taken by her charm, kindness, and those beautiful blue eyes. Marty and Kathy began their magnificent life and journey together when they married in 1965. And what a life it was. The greatest blessing of their marriage was their three children, Marty, Jr., Aileen and Brian.
With Marty's rising career at General Electric, the Holleran family moved 12 times in 18 years. With each move came a new place, new schools for the kids and a new adventure. Each time Kathy was the rock and the homemaker who ensured that the Holleran home was filled always with love, laughter, and joy wherever it came to be.
Kathy and Marty traveled the world over their many years- and trips to Ireland were always their favorite. And avid and fierce tennis player and golfer she won many club championships along the way. She was kind, thoughtful and always fun to be with. She will be fondly remembered by all who knew her but remembered and cherished most by her husband Marty as "His Wonderful One."
Kathy's life was blessed by her children Marty, Jr (who passed away in 2021); daughter Aileen Holleran Crowley and her husband John; and youngest son Brian and his wife Kimberlee. Kathy leaves 7 grandchildren as well and their spouses and fiancée: John, Jr. and his wife Amanda, Megan, Patrick, Connor and his fiancée Rachel, Jack and his wife Julia, Bridget, and Ronan. Kathy also leaves her two great-grandchildren, Stella and Scarlett- and countless nieces and nephews. Across these four generations of family and friends she was known as Mrs. H, Mom, Aunt Kathy and Nana. She will be missed by all, but so very proud of each and all she leaves behind. And until they all meet again, "May God hold her in the hollow of His hand."
The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at Morton Plant Hospital and Sun Coast Hospice in Florida for their care, kindness and professionalism.
