Alice Manley Grippi, 78, of Scranton, Pa., died peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018, at Brookdale Echelon Lake, Assisted Living Facility, Voorhees, N.J., surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Frank P. Grippi, who died on Dec. 8, 2014.

Born Oct. 10, 1940, in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Anna Barrett Manley. She was a graduate of West Scranton High School.

Alice was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She also worked for a number of years in the 1980s as the co-owner of their business, Pete's Market. She also provided administrative assistance to Grippi Investigative Agency Inc. She was a member of the Irish Cultural Society as she was very proud of her Irish heritage. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at Post 908 American Legion. She enjoyed camping and vacationing with her husband on many trips over the many years that they were married. She also enjoyed her annual shore vacation at Seaside Heights, N.J. with her family, as well as enjoying good times with family and friends at their basement bar, known as "Frank's Place."

Alice is survived by her children, Alice (Edwin) Kispert, Erial, N.J.; Peter (Janet) Grippi, Abingdon, Md.; and Marie (William) Smith, Scranton; her grandchildren, Erin (Ryan) Schuman, Edwin and Kimberly Kispert, Kristen (Ralph) Petagna, and William and Melissa Smith; and her great-granddaughter, Whitley Grace Schuman. Also surviving are her sister, Eileen Woelkers, Dunmore; cousins, nieces and nephews.

Her sisters, Rose Clifford, Annmarie Coles, Jane Henning; and brother, Charles Manley preceded her in death.

The funeral will be Saturday morning from the Neil W. Regan Funeral Home, 1900 Pittston Ave., Scranton, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. at Mary Mother of God Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 316 William St., Scranton, with Interment at Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.

Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Friday, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Those attending the funeral Mass on Saturday are asked to go directly to the church.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Brookdale Echelon Lake and Grace Healthcare Services (Hospice Care) for the care provided to Alice. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Alice's name to Grace Healthcare Services, 105 Fieldcrest Ave., Suite 402, Edison, NJ 08837.
