Francis Marx

Francis Marx, Pre-arranged Funerals, Neil Regan Funeral Home, Scranton, PA

Francis Marx, 78, of Scranton, died Friday, March 27, at Carbondale Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. His wife is the former Linda McLaughlin. Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late William George and Mary Alice Norton Marx and was a graduate of West Scranton High School. Prior to retirement, he was employed for more than 30 years by McKinney Products, where he worked in shipping and logistics.

In addition to taking pride in being a hard-working man, Fran enjoyed fishing, bowling, and swimming, and was a longtime fan of Penn State and the Pittsburgh Steelers. An avid train enthusiast, he took many cross-country trips and traveled to Canada by rail. He also shared this love of trains with his grandchildren, accompanying them on local rides.

Fran was also a lifelong animal lover. His care for his four-legged companions will continue to make an impact, as his pacemaker will be donated to Project My Heart Your Heart, a University of Michigan Cardiovascular Center program that refurbishes pace- makers for animals in need.

His family will remember him with love and appreciation for the life he lived, and the example he set.

Also surviving are two sons, Matthew and wife, Laura; and William and wife, Karen; and three grandchildren, Madalyn and fiancé, Connor Langan, and Mason and Gavin Marx.

Fran was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Lou Marx, and Rosalie Munley.
