Mary Grace Roche Tellie, 91, of Scranton, died Tuesday, January 14, at Elan Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation. Her husband of 60 years, Theodore (Ted) Tellie, preceded her in death in 2020. Born in the Bellevue section of Scranton, she was a daughter of the late Patrick F. and Mary Davern Roche. She was a member of Holy Cross Church until its closing and later St. Patrick's Parish.
A graduate of West Scranton High School, Mary Grace devoted her life to family and her deep Catholic faith. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by two daughters: Mary Ann Michno and fiancé Egon Berardinelli, Clarks Summit, and Eileen Turley and husband Jeff, Pittsburgh; six grandchildren: Joseph Godino, Anthony Godino, and Gabrielle Michno, and Tyler, Zachary, and Cassidy Turley.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Roche Reardon, and a brother, Robert Roche.
The family would like to express its gratitude to the staffs of Compassionate Care Hospice and Elan Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation for the extraordinary care given to Mary Grace.
The funeral will be Saturday with Mass of Christian Burial at 2 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Chapel, 1605 Oram St., celebrated by Rev. Richard Fox, C.P.
