Joanne Carlin, 81, died Thursday at home surrounded by her family. Her husband of 47 years, the late William P. Carlin Sr., preceded her in death in 2011.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late William and Evelyn Clark Dixon. A 1960 graduate of West Scranton High School, Joanne was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Clarks Summit. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Joanne devoted her life to her family.
Surviving are two daughters, Kelly Carlin and companion, Gregory Jezewski (Throop); and Jodi Cieszkowski and husband, Christopher (Old Forge); a son, William P. Carlin Jr. and wife, Barbara; six grandchildren, Brian Felkowski, Brandi Silverstein, Stephanie Bejeski, Danielle Herne, Katie Carlin and William Carlin III; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Richard and John Dixon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a son, James P. Carlin; and two brothers: William and James Dixon.
A funeral service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Neil W. Regan Funeral Home Inc., 1900 Pittston Ave., followed by interment at Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
Friends and family may call Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m.
