John Edward "Jack" Moran, 78, died Saturday at home. His wife of 56 years is the former Margaret (Peggy) Robinson. A son of the late John J. and Ann McCormick Moran, he was a member of St. Theresa of Calcutta Parish.
Jack was a graduate of Holy Rosary High School and Penn State University, where he received an associate's degree in electrical engineering. Prior to retirement he was an electrician and a member of IBEW Local 81. A devout Catholic, Jack attended daily Mass and was devoted to St. Ann. He enjoyed antiquing, fishing and was also an avid music lover.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his three children: daughters, Erin Anderson and husband, Ted; Maureen Forte and husband, Frank; a son, Ryan and wife, Katie; eight grandchildren, Corey, Ben, Zachary, Ally, Maxwell, Giana, Jude and Finn; a sister-in-law, Pat Moran; and a brother in-law, Charles "Chick" Robinson.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Jerry; a nephew, Little Jerry Moran; and brother in-law, John Robinson.
The funeral will be Wednesday, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Mary, Mother of God Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 316 William St. Interment will be in Cathedral Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
