Cecilia Simonson, 65, of Olyphant, died Wednesday at home after a brief illness.
Born Aug. 30, 1957, in Scranton, she was a daughter of the late Joseph J. and Cecilia Malone Nee, and was a graduate of West Scranton High School. Prior to retirement, she worked at the Parodi Cigar factory for many years. A true nature-lover, Cecilia was especially fond of birds, animals, fairies and gardens. She also enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family.

Surviving are a daughter, Rosemarie Simonson; a son, Jeffrey Simonson; two granddaughters, Kelleah Simonson and Kaitlynn Evans; a grandson, Brandon Evans Jr.; a great-grandson, Kaydin DeFelice; a brother, Jerome Nee; and a sister, Bridget Toth.
