Joseph Albert Turbessi, Pre-arranged Funerals, Neil Regan Funeral Home, Scranton, PA

Joseph Albert Turbessi, 82, of Scranton, died Wednesday at Allied Services Hospice Center. His wife of 50 years, the former Sandra Duffy, preceded him in death in 2012.

An avid photographer, Joe also made dollhouses, followed the Yankees and read Mary Higgins Clark novels in his spare time. Family always came first, though, and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him great joy in his retirement. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.

He is survived by four sons, Chris and wife, Colleen; Raymond and wife, Brenda; David and wife, Pam; and Joseph and wife, Susan; 12 grandchildren, Joe, Stacey, Jennifer, Jamie, Ashley, Ryan, Kyle, Tyler, Kira, Kory, Kailey and David; and numerous great- and great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Albert.

The funeral will be Tuesday with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, 1403 Jackson St., celebrated by the Rev. Richard Fox, pastor. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery.

Friends and Family may call Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Neil W. Regan Funeral Home Inc., 1900 Pittston Ave. Those attending the Mass on Tuesday are asked to proceed directly to the church.
