Sally Sweeney, 89, a lifelong resident of Minooka, died Saturday with her family at her side. Her husband of 42 years, Jack Sweeney, died in 2019. A daughter of the late Edward and Celenia Lally Judge, she was a member of Divine Mercy Parish at St. Joseph's Church.

A graduate of Minooka High School and Lackawanna Business School, she worked at Cornell University and later the Scranton School District, where she retired as a medical clerk.

Sally's family was her world. Family get-togethers and holidays when everyone gathered were things she enjoyed most in life. She loved visits with her sister and brothers and was proud of her family-built bar, Judge's, which was one of her favorite spots. He family affectionately referred to her as Sal the Gal as she was always a lot of fun and was known for her witty comments. Sally loved traveling with her husband, Jack, and friends on various bus trips and to visit her sister, Marie, in Fairfield, Conn. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who affectionately referred to her as "Nan Nan," were the light of her life.

Sally is survived by four daughters, Kathleen Revta, Dunmore; Colleen Bonner and husband, Bob, Pittsburgh; Lisa Regan and husband, Paul, Old Forge; and Mary Kemps, Minooka; her 14 grandchildren, Celenia Ayers, Shamus and Torie Evans, Kevin, Alyssa and Kristen Regan, Megan, Michael and Kristina Kemps, and Danielle, Ryan, Nicole, Evan and Sarah Revta; six great-grandchildren: Andrew Quinn, Jade Revta, Alena and Quinn Foley, and Derrick and Zander Pavlovicz; a brother, Martin Judge, Minooka; a sister in-law, Carol Sweeney, Scranton; brother in-law, Paul Sweeney and wife, Lily, New Jersey; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, David Revta; and siblings, Marie Prendergast, John and William Judge; as well as two nieces and three nephews and one great-nephew.

The family wishes to express its gratitude to Drs. Linda Frantz, Julio Ramos and Lisa Thomas for their excellent care of Sally.

The funeral will be Saturday with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Divine Mercy Parish at St. Joseph's Church, 312 Davis St., celebrated by the Rev. Francis Pauselli, pastor, followed by interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Friends and family may call Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Neil W. Regan Funeral Home, 1900 Pittston Ave., Scranton, PA 18505. Those attending Mass on Saturday may proceed directly to the church.
