George W. Nicodem, Pre-arranged Funerals, Neil Regan Funeral Home, Scranton, PA

George W. Nicodem, 64, of Benton Twp., died Monday after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Born in Scanton, he was a son of the late George Nicodem and Joan Walsh Conlin. A graduate of Scranton Central High School, George served in the United States Navy on the USS Conyngham, and during the evacuation of Americans from Beruit, Lebanon. After his service in the Navy, George was employed as a welder, where he worked in Groton, Conn.; as well as the Scranton area.

His family wishes to thank the staff of VNA Hospice and Home Health for their extraordinary care throughout George's illness.

He is survived by his longtime partner, Robin Donnelly and her family, Kristin Mitchell and Asya Nunes; sisters, Kathy Stocki and husband, Walter; and Mary Hamilton; a stepsister, Laura Horn; aunts and uncles, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was also preceded in death by a stepsister, Nora Boczar.

In accordance to his wishes, he has been cremated. Service details will be announced in a later edition of The Times-Tribune. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VNA Hospice and Home Health, 301 Delaware Ave., Olyphant, PA 18447.
