Carole Bombar, 78, of Scranton, died Monday, April 25, at Geisinger Community Medical Center after a brief illness. She was the widow of George Bombar.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Edward and Viola Bochak Oleski, she was a graduate of West Scranton High School and was a member of Holy Cross Parish in the Bellevue section of Scranton, before its closing. She was employed by Scranton Lace Co. for several years and worked in the dietary department of CMC before her retirement. After retirement, she worked alongside her daughter at Gertrude Hawk Chocolates.
Carole enjoyed entertaining and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved baseball, Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit and hosted many card and game nights at her home. She will be deeply missed, but fondly remembered, by all who knew her.
Surviving are a daughter, Christine Talarico and husband, Matthew; two sons, George Bombar and wife, Janice; and Brian Bombar; five grandchildren, Krissy Talarico Kizer and husband, Brian; Ryan Talarico and wife, Jennifer; and Alec, Ciara and Mira Bombar; and six great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Talarico Jr.
