Matthew Georgetti, Pre-arranged Funerals, Neil Regan Funeral Home, Scranton, PA

Matthew Georgetti, 83, of Clarks Summit, died Friday at St. Mary's Villa Nursing Home. His wife of 65 years is the former Marcella Arms.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Dominick and Eleanor Grady Georgetti, and a member of Our Lady of the Snows Parish, Clarks Summit.

Matthew was a graduate of South Catholic High School and served in the United States Navy. He was employed at Procter & Gamble for 26 years and also helped run his family's business, Georgetti's Garden Center, for more than 40 years. Hardworking and determined, Matthew worked almost until the age of 80. His family was everything to him.

Also surviving are his six children, Robin Rudzinski and husband, Robert, Clarks Summit; Matthew Georgetti and wife, Patti, South Abington Twp.; Mark Georgetti and wife, Michele, Scranton; Brad Georgetti and wife, Tammy, Tunkhannock; Marcella Griffin and husband, Daniel Devivo, Clarks Summit; and Lynn Olenchak and husband, Edward, Madisonville; a sister, Mary Joan Gibbs, Old Forge; a brother, Dominick and wife, Linda, Scranton; a brother-in-law, Alan Kosh, Florida; 15 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, John and wife, Patricia; a brother, Chester; and a brother-in-law, Robert Gibbs.

The funeral will be Wednesday with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Snows Church, 301 S. State St., Clarks Summit, to be celebrated by Monsignor Michael J. Delaney, pastor. Friends may call Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church.
