Anne Kennedy Gomba

Anne Kennedy Gomba, Pre-arranged Funerals, Neil Regan Funeral Home, Scranton, PA

Anne Kennedy Gomba, 74, of Scranton, passed away Thursday at Regional Hospital of Scranton after an illness. Her husband, John preceded her in death in 2015.

Born in Scranton, she was a daughter of the late Edgar and Eleanor McDonnell Kennedy. A graduate of Cathedral High School, class of 1964, she worked at Thompson Electronics before retirement.

Anne was a kind and gentle person with a big heart. The oldest of four, she was always there for her family and willing to help with open arms. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. Anne had a special bond with her siblings, enjoying traveling with them over the years, especially to Kennebunkport, Maine, Sanibel Island, Fla., and Ocean City, N.J. They shared many fond memories of their time together. She loved her nieces and nephews, treating them like her own children and enjoyed watching them grow up and have families of their own. An animal lover, Anne especially cared for many cats that she spoiled over the years. Anne will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in those she loved. Until we meet again.

She is survived by her brother, Gerald Kennedy, Scranton; sisters, Mary Lu Haynie, Somers Point, N.J., and Joan Besen (Lee), Waverly; aunts, Joan Cobb, Lake Ariel, and Dr. Alice McDonnell, Scranton; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and many cousins.

She was also preceded in death by a sister in-law, Mary Kennedy, and many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.

Anne's family would like to thank the staff of Abington Manor.

The funeral will be Wednesday with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at the Church of St. Gregory, 330 N. Abington Road, Clarks Green. Masks and respect for social distancing will be required for those attending Mass. Interment will be private at St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow. Arrangements, Neil W. Regan Funeral Home Inc., 1900 Pittston Ave., Scranton PA 18505.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Anne's memory may be made to the Church of St. Gregory, 330 N.
