Linda Eileen (Cawley) Conrad, age 73, a resident of Inverness, Florida, and former resident of West Pittston, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Sept. 10. Linda left this earth surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her devoted husband of 51 years, Lewis "Butch" Conrad; her daughter, Dr. Shannon Conrad and husband, Mark Adamczyk, of Charleston, South Carolina; and her son, Kevin and wife, Jenna Conrad, of Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania. Linda was the proud grandmother of Ryan and Emily Conrad. Linda is also survived by her four siblings, Patrick Cawley, of West Pittston; Saraellen McAndrew, of Richmond, Virginia; Gaynor Cawley, of Scranton; and James Cawley, of Scranton.
Linda was born in Scranton on May 17, 1947, daughter of the late Margaret (McHale) Cawley. She was a graduate of St. Patrick's High School in Scranton. She retired from Aureus Ltd. in 1995.
Linda was a devout Catholic who was very fond of her Irish heritage. She loved to dance, cook and entertain guests. She was dignified in all that she did. Linda's love for her immediate family and extended family knew no bounds, but her greatest sources of pride were her children and grandchildren. She emphasized faith, family, sense of humor and education. Linda and her husband Butch moved to Florida in 1998. They enjoyed traveling during their retirement years and hosted numerous visitors at their Florida home.
The Conrad family would like to thank the entire staff at Citrus Memorial Hospital, the Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania and Allied Services Hospice Center for their exceptional care. The treatment of our mother provided her with the dignity by which she lived her life.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Linda's name to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
