Mary Lou Marx

Mary Lou Marx, 66, of Scranton, died Dec. 21 after an illness.

Born in Scranton, she was a daughter of the late William George and Mary Alice Norton Marx. After attending Scranton public schools, she worked as a sales clerk at K-Mart before retirement.

She deeply loved animals and took care of numerous cats and dogs. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by a brother, Francis Marx and wife, Linda; three nephews, Pete Munley and wife, Theresa; Matthew Marx and wife, Laura; and Bill Marx and wife, Karen; a niece, Blythe Petrillo; and her dear friend and caretaker, Kelly Heckman.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the medical professionals at Geisinger CMC Cancer Center for the extraordinary care they provided throughout Mary Lou's sickness.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Rosalie; and brother-in-law, Pete Munley.
